It is one of the basic needs of a teenager. With the rapidly developing technologies, most aspects of a teenager's life takes place in the virtual world. Almost anything can be done on the internet. For example, with the invention of video streaming and internet radio, instead of using the tv or radio, people can now watch or listen to their favorite shows on the internet, without the annoying commercials. With the developement of instant messaging and facebook, teenagers are now able to communicate with their friends on the internet. if the internet was taken away from a teenager, he will be made fun of by his friends because he will not be up to date on the current trends.

There are many predators on the internet, looking to lure young boys and girls into a private location. to protect myself, i avoid posting my personal information on the internet, such as address, phone number etc. i also avoid posting real pictures of me on the internet. if i was approached by a predator on facebook or msn, i would instantly delete him off my contact list and block him from accessing my page ever again.

as an online community, we can avoid internet predators by restricting access to our sites. this will let only the students and teachers to see the pages and no one else. i dont think there is any threat within our community because we are all students and teachers. if anything happens, the teachers will have contact info of the offender and will be able to stop him. to ensure our communication is always positive, we can impliment a strike system. if someone keep on offending other students, after 3 strikes, he or she can be kicked out of the course by the teacher.

Once Upon A Time

In our desire to protect ourselves and those we love, we can instead create potentially harmful situations. How does this happen in the story?

In the story Once Upon A Time, the family heavily fenced their beloved house to protect themselves against the riot and criminals. Pety crimes happening around the neighborhood alarmed the family. Everyone around them installed security systems and heavy fences around their house. The quiet and beautiful neighborhood that contained the finest houses turned into a neighbor full of mini prison yards. The heavy fences around the house is like a two-way mirror. In prevented thieves and robbers from coming in, but also prevented anyone in the house from getting out. Something will go wrong because no plan is bullet-proof. One night, after reading a bedtime story, the family's naive little son climbed into the fence and died tragically. Eventhough the intention of the fence was good, it also created a potential hazard for the residents of the house.

Hi, my name is Steven Yang.
